Setting Up Your Home Network

In the 21st century it is quite common to have multiple computers in your household.  And with multiple computers this may require you to set up a network.  A network is a group of computers that can access and share mutual information as well as share an Internet connection.  Networks are great for sharing music and files between computers.  But the question you may have is how do I set up a network for the computers in my house?  Well with these few steps you will be able to set up a home a network.

Home Network Setup is not too difficult once you have the equipment you need.  A few items you will need to buy are as follows:  Ethernet cable, a router of some sorts either wireless or not.  If you not setting up a wireless network then you will need an Ethernet cable that will reach between your two computers, otherwise one Ethernet cable that will reach from your cable modem to your desktop or laptop computer.  The next step is the installation of your router.  Your router wireless or not has two sets of Ethernet connections, one is from your computer to the router and the other is from the cable modem to the router.  If you are not using a wireless network then you will use another of the Ethernet outlets to connect to your other computer.  Once you have powered up your router you will then need to setup your network.

Setting up a network is not too difficult.  Go to the control panel on your computer.  Once there you will be looking for the network and sharing center or something similar as each operating system's verbiage is not exactly the same.  Then you want to select the setup a connection or network and then choose setup wireless connection or access point.  Once you have found these you will then follow the directions to setup your home network.  You may have a problem here and there such as bridging your connection but using the tools that the computer provides you can follow the instructions to setting up  your configuration.  Good luck and enjoy your home network.
